Frequently Asked Questions

Presbycusis — natural decline of hair cells in cochlea. Highest frequencies first. By 50, most adults have lost ability to hear above 14 kHz.
How accurate is this online?
Indicative only. Real audiogram measures decibel-thresholds at standard frequencies. This is yes/no per frequency. Use for curiosity, not medical diagnosis.
How to protect hearing?
Below 70 dB exposure (normal conversation). Above 85 dB sustained = damage. Concerts/headphones at moderate volume; rest your ears 24h after loud events.
