Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get an exact pixel crop?
The crop box snaps to pixel coordinates. The top-right info panel shows current crop position and size in pixels. For surgical precision, use a desktop tool like Photoshop.
Does cropping reduce quality?
No. Cropping simply discards pixels outside the box — the pixels that remain are exactly the same as the original. For JPG output, a small re-encoding happens with quality 0.92 (near-lossless).
What aspect ratios are preset?
1:1 (Instagram), 4:3 (classic photo), 16:9 (YouTube, widescreen), 3:4 (portrait mobile), 9:16 (Instagram story, TikTok), and Free for any ratio.
Can I rotate before cropping?
Not yet — this is a cropping tool. For rotation, use your phone's photo editor or an image editor like GIMP/Photoshop first, then crop here.
Is my image uploaded?
No. Everything happens in your browser via the Canvas API. Perfect for private photos, screenshots, or documents.
