Molarity formula
M = moles / liters. For 1 M NaCl (58.44 g/mol): 58.44 g in 1 L = 1 M. Or 5.844 g in 100 mL = 1 M.
Molar vs molal
Molarity (M) = moles / L of solution. Molality (m) = moles / kg of solvent. Molality is temperature-independent.
