Frequently Asked Questions

Is GAD-7 reliable?
Yes — validated for generalized anxiety disorder. Sensitivity ~89%, specificity ~82%. Used in primary care worldwide. Public domain.
Difference from panic disorder / social anxiety?
GAD-7 measures generalized anxiety. For panic, social anxiety, OCD, PTSD: separate validated tools (PDSS, SPIN, Y-BOCS, PCL-5). Talk to a clinician for differential diagnosis.
Caffeine before test?
Doesn't affect 2-week recall. But if you've had high caffeine intake throughout the period, that may inflate symptoms. Note this in clinical conversation.
