What to include in an invoice

• Invoice number — a unique identifier for tracking and reference. Use a consistent numbering scheme (e.g., INV-001, INV-002).
• Issue date and due date — clearly states when the invoice was created and when payment is expected.
• Sender details — your business name, address, email, and phone number.
• Recipient details — the client's name, company, and billing address.
• Line items — description of goods or services, quantity, and unit price for each entry.
• Tax information — applicable tax rate and calculated tax amount. In the EU, include your VAT number.
• Payment terms — acceptable payment methods, bank details, and any late payment penalties.

Tax and discount calculations

The tool calculates totals in the following order: first, it sums all line items (quantity x unit price) to get the subtotal. If a discount percentage is set, it subtracts the discount from the subtotal. Then, the tax percentage is applied to the discounted subtotal. The final total is: (subtotal - discount) + tax. All calculations happen in real-time as you type.

Supported currencies

Choose from 15+ currencies including USD, EUR, GBP, JPY, CAD, AUD, CHF, CNY, INR, KRW, TRY, BRL, MXN, SEK, and NOK. The selected currency symbol appears next to all monetary values in both the preview and the downloaded PDF. The PDF is generated locally using the pdf-lib JavaScript library. When you close the browser tab, all entered data is permanently gone. If you need to save drafts, download the PDF before closing.
